45.3 percent of Bates College students played sports on university teams in 2016-2017


In 2016-2017, 45.3 percentage of Bates College students participated in collegiate sports, according to data made available by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

Bates College has a total student body of 1,787 students, of which 51 percent are women and 49 percent are men. Of these students, 471 men and 339 women represented the school by participating in one or more of the sports with teams at the school.

This total does not include students playing intramural sports.

According to NCES, 4.3 percent of students enrolled at institutions of higher education with sports teams were on teams.

The sports at Bates College with the most participants are all track combined (273), lacrosse (77) and rowing (68).
