Census Bureau: More men than women in Oxford in 2017


Of the 1,168 people living in Oxford in 2017, 41.9 percent (489) were women and 58.1 percent (679) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Maine Business Daily.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by a ratio of 527-to-400. In the 65 years and over age range, there were 89 females and 51 males.

Data for this story was compiled from the bureau's American Community Survey. Information from the survey helps to determine how federal and state funds are distributed.
